Social Bookmarking with delicious

delicious is a social bookmarking website, a free tool for storing your bookmarks online. This allows you to access the same bookmarks from any computer and add bookmarks from anywhere. You can easily share (or keep private) these bookmarks. You can see what other users are tagging.
Objective: Teachers will be able to tag websites, share tagged sites, and locate useful sites tagged by others.

Summarizing and Note Taking

  • While conducting research, students can save sites with notes. This could provide an informal bibliography.

Nonlinguistic Representation

  • Podcasts, mp3 web pages, saved on delicious will display a play button so you can listen to the podcast from the delicious page without having to visit another web page.

Cooperative Learning

  • Since you are share your bookmarks with others, tag sites for other users, and add users to your network, it is a great collaborative tool for sharing resources.

Homework and Practice

  • Since the tool is available on all Internet connected stations, students can use the resources outside to school.
